Science, Photography, Life etc…

So we leave the “noughties” and enter then “tens??” First up very sad news, poor Xavier Majic did not survive with uncle Rob over Christmas and was found (very tiny) belly up when I returned to the lab early in January. There is the possibility of getting another one which would be older and more developed, but that won’t be until March. Plenty of time to change my mind a million times.
I went to the PopGroup conference last week in Liverpool, despite its name and my amazing singing ability there were no Spice Girls or Boyzone members there, merely population geneticists. A whole different breed of human beings to say the least! Next week I plan to write about our epic journey there and the snow in general, just because its all melted doesn’t mean I can’t join in on the moan about bad weather bandwagon.
Other than that there hasn’t been much to report. I can do a run down of my Christmas presents I guess?
I had a wonderful time at home with my family and Karen and then enjoyed going to Preston and Centre Parcs. I spent New Year’s Eve playing on the Wii with Karen vodka and coke and didn’t break a thing. Back in Nottingham its all systems go, snails to breed, babies to look after, presentations to do, stats to figure out and a million other things including important socialising and exploring.
