This is the view from the top of the Petrín Tower.  Sadly the day was quite hazy but even so the cityscape was still quite spectacular with Prague’s red roofs splaying out across the city leading up to the Castle district in the top third of the photo.  What you can’t see is how hilly the city centre actually is, going up to the castle from the riverbank is quite a trek, made even more difficult due to the cobbled streets.  Whilst we were there one of the top cross country skiing races was held within the castle grounds.  We were a bit perplexed when we saw all the imported snow but after watching it on TV one evening in the hotel it became a lot clearer what was going on!
