I went to Blackpool Zoo two weekends ago and had my first proper photo session in a fair while.  My photos have been lacking something of late so I tried to focus on getting strong compositions knowing that with that in place it was only a matter of time before I got something I liked.  This is a Magellanic penguin (Spheniscus magellanicus) diving under the water in what was a compact but impressive enclosure.  There were plenty of good shots to be had up top including some of the little fellows sunning themselves.  I enjoyed the zoo but the dinosaur park was particularly amusing, not quite as good as Jurassic Park however!
