Science, Photography, Life etc…

This year I have read more in-depth science than ever before, which comes with the territory of doing an MRes in Molecular evolution I guess! I have also read more about faith than ever before. Learning more and more about how evolution works and its impact on philosophy has really made me want to ensure I am taking the opportunity to learn about complementary thoughts and theories. I am currently reading Mere Christianity by CS Lewis which has been a great help rationalising what the Christian faith is all about, it underlines the moral framework for the belief system and how this is still practically applicable in the modern world by modernising its original framework.
I recently stumbled upon the excellent Denim and Tweed blog written by Jeremy Yoder. Its a blog I’d very much like to emulate here, his rationale is very similar to mine and is immensely reassuring to read. I’ve been struggling recently as my PhD applications haven’t come to fruition despite getting several interviews and I’ve been wondering if I’m making the right choice. Reading D&T has definitely made me see that it is possible to be both a rational scientist studying evolutionary biology and publishing in high profile journals and a rational Christian. It was never going to be easy but at least I can see that it is possible.
