The UK has had a bit of a cold snap recently.  I’ve been down in Nottingham finishing a few things relating to my project and had a leisurely walk around the lake on campus.  It really has been bitterly cold and the lake has got a good inch or so of ice on top of it!  There are a fair few road signs and trees stuck in the ice, but what caught my eye was this life buoy stuck out in the middle of the lake.  The blue colour cast on the photo is completely natural but I kept it as I thought it showed how cold it actually was!
